My name is Samuel Antelo, and I am a 26-year-old wildlife and landscape photographer based in Los Angeles, California. I focus on documenting animals in their natural habitats and exploring the outdoors, with the goal of highlighting both the beauty and importance of the natural world.
I was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, and moved to Los Angeles at the age of eleven. Some of my earliest and most meaningful memories come from time spent at my grandmother’s home, which was filled with plants and trees and felt like a small forest to me. It was a place where I felt happy, curious, and free. She had cable television, which meant I could watch animal documentaries, and she kept old children’s books filled with wildlife photographs that I loved paging through. In the late afternoons, she would feed the birds, and we would sit together talking while watching them gather. I believe these quiet moments, among many others, played a significant role in shaping my connection to nature and the path I follow today.
My work includes intimate close-ups that reveal an animal’s gaze and invite a personal connection, wider environmental images that show how wildlife interacts with its surroundings, and detailed macro photographs that highlight often-overlooked textures and features. Together, these perspectives reflect my goal of encouraging deeper curiosity, respect, and appreciation for the natural world.
